Composite Materials

Fabrics
Composite fabrics are categorized based on their material composition, weave type, and weight per square meter (g/m²).
- Materials: Carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, hybrid fabrics, and glass mats.
- Weave Types: Twill, veil, unidirectional, etc.
- Weight Range: From 20 g/m² up to 600 g/m², depending on the manufacturer.

Resins
Resins used in composite manufacturing vary by material type and application:
- Types: Polyester, Vinylester, Epoxy, etc.
- Key Differences: Curing time, thermal resistance, chemical resistance, and viscosity. While most resins begin curing at room temperature, maximum structural strength is typically achieved through heat treatment.

Sandwich Materials
These materials are placed between composite layers to enhance strength while reducing weight.
- Purpose: Improve mechanical properties, reduce weight, and increase stiffness.
- Examples: Structural foams, honeycomb cores, and various hybrid core materials.
